Cooperation between IvSU and Yeditepe University reaches a new level

Cooperation between IvSU and Yeditepe University reaches a new level

The working visit of the IvSU delegation consisting of the rector of the university A.A. Malygin and vice-rector N.D. Sorokin to Yeditepe University (Istanbul), with which IvSU has a long history of friendship and cooperation.

During the visit, meetings were held with the founder and president of Yeditepe University Bedrettin Dalan (a well-known Turkish politician, the first mayor of Greater Istanbul) and rector Canan Aikut Bingol. Working events were also held with specialized vice-rectors in charge of educational and international activities, and heads of individual departments of the university.

A roadmap was signed for the next three years. It provides different forms of academic cooperation for students of both universities. So, in addition to online courses and meetings, within the framework of short-term academic mobility, courses of the Turkish language and culture / Russian language and culture, respectively, will be organized. The practice of student law schools of our universities in the field of comparative law will be developed.

The rector of IvSU invited the leadership of Yeditepe University to visit our city and take part in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Ivanovo State University.

Alexey Alexandrovich noted: “We had the opportunity to make sure that the friendly relations established by our senior colleagues with foreign partners are strong and indestructible! The friendship of the two universities began with the interaction of Professor Haluk Kabaalioglu with the Faculty of Law of IvSU. Five years ago, at the initiative of the founder and president of Yeditepe University, prof. Dalan, a department of Russian language and literature was formed - the only department of Russian studies in a private Turkish university. Colleagues from Yeditepe University note the growing interest in the Russian language and culture every year.

We will promote the development of our relations in every possible way, and IvSU students will have the opportunity to participate in all types of academic mobility. All this fits into the general strategic line of cooperation developed by the leaders of our countries.”
