The All-Russian Seminar on Nonverbal Semiotics was held at IvSU

On September 15, within the framework of the Ivanovo State University “Guest Professor” program, with the assistance of the REC “Laboratory of Human Communicative Behavior” at the Ivanovo State University, an All-Russian seminar was held with the participation of students, graduate students and teachers of the Ivanovo State University, as well as their colleagues from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk and Kostroma.

The main report on the problem of “phraseology of silence” was made by guest professor of the Russian State University for the Humanities, Doctor of Philology, vice-chairman of the scientific committee of the International Sign Society, member of the International Association of Slavic Cognitive Scientists Grigory Efimovich Kreidlin. The report presented an analysis of material from the works of Russian writers at the level of deep semantics, as well as from the standpoint of non-verbal semiotics. Listeners could see the importance of using an interdisciplinary approach in the humanities.

In another report presented by a member of the REC, associate professor V.V. Ganina together with Professor F.I. Kartashkova, reflected the main provisions of a new direction in linguistic science - the study of non-verbal human behavior in situations of an altered state of consciousness. The report offered an analysis of the nonverbal behavior of the heroes of F.M.’s novels. Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment" and "The Idiot".

The reports were listened to with interest; a number of questions were asked and discussed.
